The second training under EU project NotBAlt-3 “NGO potential for contribution to environmental policy development” on workshop organization, presentation and facilitation was held at 8-10 May 2007 at Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

This meeting is aimed to deep knowledge of NGO’s from Russia, Belarus’, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia on presentation and facilitation, and train it on the practice.
At this meeting more attention was on facilitation skills raising and workshop organisation.

Workshop organisation including both content side (issue, goals,target group and eg..) and technical side. Consequently participants from 6 countries learned in detail about general organisational issues to remember, time management, planning, agenda building and facilitation issues.

Participants are placed high emphasis on the “organizational rules” of the workshop and seminar preparing, including quests attraction to the meeting (VIP-persons especially), transportation, accommodation, translation which will be good both for speakers and for the learners and many others.

They give presentations about the event scenarios taking into account things which were learned at the first meeting. Trainer gives her feedback to each of participants after that to bring to light on the things which have to be improved in the future (voice, skills to conduct oneself to the audience, communication skills and e.g.).

But facilitation skills rising are at the centre of attention at this meeting. Participants have a learning of different methods of facilitation and equalize it; every participant could train themselves as a facilitators of the meeting, train to fly right in the critical situation (with very many talking around, very high emotions, very high criticism of participants and e.g.)

Expected results: new skills are gained on the facilitation and presentation, to be practiced during the project events.
